Nowadays, even the students lead a stressful life. They face a lot of pressure about exams, homework, etc. Stress can be beneficial or detrimental depending upon the level of stress. Little stress can improve your performance, while too much stress can spoil the mood, health and performance. Some signs of too much stress include headaches, stomach cramps, racing heart and/or sweaty palms, irregular sleep patterns, and feeling angry, irritable, or tense. Some helpful stress busters are listed below:-
- Manage your Time: One of the key aspects in stress management is Time. Make a schedule of all the things to be done. Make a weekly plan and include all major activities like study, exercise, friend, family, etc.
- Sleep Well: On Average, 7-8 hours of sleep is necessary. Without good amount of sleep, you will not be able to concentrate on class. All night study is never a good plan as it spoils the next day.
- NO Extra Activity: Say “NO” to extra activity like long chats with friends, too much television or computer. This will spoil your time, rather focus on what really matters i.e. your work.
- Take Time For Yourself: Devote some time exclusively for yourself. It includes eating, listening to little music, exercises or pursuing your hobby. All of them are good way to remove stress.
- You Are No God: Normally, many of us also feel stress out when things are not moving the correct or our way. Means there can be times when we fall sick, have personal problems, or some other work drops up. At these times, we need to reschedule and draw priority as to what is more important or must be completed first. Your duty is to do your best and leave the rest to god.
Things Not To Be Done When Stressed:
- No Tea or Coffee: Tea or Coffee, may give initial boost but at last they are of no help.
- No Smoking: Smoking is injurious to health and will not prove to be a stress buster.
- No Alcohol or Caffeinated Drinks: Like Smoking, Alcohol or Caffeinated drinks will spoil your health.
- Junk Food: Say “No” to junk food. Rather have nourishing meals as they will provide you energy to fight with stress.
Caffeine, nicotine, sugar, and alcohol spike your adrenaline level, but then leaves you feeling drained when it drops. These don’t change situation in any of the ways, rather deteriorate your health.
